About Dr. Aaron Brown

Dr. Aaron D. Brown is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon. He obtained his Board Certification in Plastic Surgery by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 2008.

Dr. Brown completed his Bachelor of Sciences in 1999. He was accepted that same year to Medical School at the University of Manitoba and received his Doctor of Medicine in 2003. While attending medical school he obtained a second Bachelor of Sciences degree and had his research published in the preeminent Journal of Anesthesiology. In 2003 he was the successful candidate, out of more than 60 applicants from across Canada, for the residency in Plastic Surgery at the University of Manitoba. This program is known across North America as one of the most grueling residencies in Microsurgical Reconstructive Plastic Surgery.

While completing his residency, Dr. Brown was able to publish abstracts in peer-reviewed journals of plastic surgery. He also had the opportunity to be the lead speaker on numerous occasions for his universities section of plastic surgery's grand rounds. Dr. Brown has also had his research accepted and subsequently presented at national level meetings.

In his fourth year of residency training he was selected, out of all the residents in Canada, by the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgery Educational Fund to be the first recipient of the travelling residents fellowship. This allowed him to travel with Operation Rainbow Canada to Cambodia, to meet and work with children suffering from craniofacial deformities. While there he had the distinct opportunity to train under some of the most renowned pediatric Plastic Surgeons from Canada and Cambodia.

In 2007 and 2008 due to the hard work and respect of the surgeons he had trained under he was selected to be the Chief Resident of Plastic Surgery at the U of M. Upon completion of his 5 year residency Dr. Brown successfully passed his boards.

Dr. Brown was actively recruited by multiple different organizations in Canada and the United States, ultimately choosing to establish his practice in Abbotsford BC. With the opening of the Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Center (ARHCC) he was given the opportunity to develop new programs. This includes further expanding the surgical options offered to women undergoing mastectomies and the ability to have immediate breast reconstruction. He is currently a consulting staff member at the ARHCC, Mission Memorial Hospital and has privileges at both the South Fraser Surgical Center and Boardwalk Surgery Center.
